Abby is the kind of senior who walks up and the energy instantly feels lighter. She is outgoing, kind, and a total people-pleaser in the best way. She told me she wanted her photos to feel like this season of life: happy, real, and something she can look back on and actually feel the moment again.
She also came in bold. Like, “give me direction and I’ll crush it” bold. Love that for her.
Abby is Free State High School Class of 2026, and she is headed toward KU and nursing, so we built her session around both sides of her: soft and feminine with florals, and confident with her career dream front and center.
Time-wise, we shot mid-afternoon into golden hour, so we got that warm light shift that makes everything look extra glowy.
Abby started in a pink-and-white floral dress with heels, and it was such a pretty match for Clinton Lake Park. This part of the session felt romantic and calm. She also brought a bouquet of flowers, which made the whole look feel intentional and “Abby.”
She told me her go-to confident outfit is a dress with heels, and yeah… it checks out.

Next up was the Lawrence Arboretum with Abby in a white dress, white sweater, and white boots. This look was soft, classic, and clean. It also fit her “I want to remember this season as happy” vibe so well.
This spot is such a go-to when you want natural scenery without it feeling messy or distracting.

This was the “where I’m going” part of the session, and it mattered to Abby. She brought blue scrubs, a stethoscope, and a KU pendant, because nursing is not just a random plan. It is the goal.
These photos are the kind you keep forever because they show more than a cute outfit. They show direction.

Abby finished with jeans and a white top on KU’s campus, and it was the perfect wrap-up. This part felt casual and confident. It also gave us a ton of variety for poses and movement.
Abby told me she wants lots of direction because she worries about angles. So that’s what we did. I coached her through everything, kept it easy, and made sure we hit the angles that feel the most flattering and natural.

A few Abby notes that made this session feel extra personal:
Also, her highlight of high school so far was Senior Sunrise, which is such a sweet “core memory” answer.
If you want senior photos that actually feel like you, here’s the move: choose outfits that make you feel confident, bring a few meaningful items, and pick locations that match your vibe.
That is exactly what Abby did, and her gallery feels personal because of it.
