I’m Megan. When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually in my daily uniform of leggings and sweatpants. I’m a firm believer that pickled sunflower seeds are the elite snack and my Raising Cane’s order is non-negotiable. It is always a Caniac with no slaw and extra toast.
I love a good book on a beach, but my real passion is making sure Lawrence seniors realize how incredible they actually are. I want to give you a day where you feel like the star of the show and walk away with photos that show the world exactly who you are.
I was the slowest writer in school. It wasn't because I couldn't keep up. I just wanted every single word to look perfect. That same eye for detail is why your photos feel intentional, true, and turned all the way up.

Megan Bowers Photography is a luxury senior portrait studio in Lawrence, KS. Every session includes professional hair and makeup, guided posing, and an in-person Gallery Reveal. Collections start at $750. Most seniors book three to four months ahead.
How do I handle hair and makeup?
Professional hair and makeup is included for every senior at Megan Bowers Photography in Lawrence, KS, at no extra cost. Your session starts at the MBP home studio with a licensed local artist. Styling takes about 1.5 hours. The goal is you, just a little more polished. Come with clean, moisturized skin and fully dry hair. Seniors who skip styling meet Megan at the first location.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Kansas weather changes fast. At Megan Bowers Photography in Lawrence, KS, the forecast gets watched closely before every session. If rain is likely, you get an early heads-up. You get another check-in closer to your start time. Rainy sessions move to the next weekday that works for you and Megan, with no fee. On windy or cloudy days, you hear how the weather will change your photos, then you choose. If rain stops a session partway through, you get a continuation of your session.
What if I don’t know how to pose?
You don't need any posing experience. At Megan Bowers Photography in Lawrence, KS, every pose is guided from start to finish. Prep starts a month before your session with a mailed Welcome Packet, a senior prep guide, and seven prep emails. On session day, you get full direction and simple movement prompts. You never have to guess what to do with your hands. You don't need to be a model to look like one.
When should I book my session?
