COOL SKIN TONES
If you have cool undertones, look for sea-inspired shades such as teal, blue, and emerald, along with frosty tones like berry, icy gray, and soft blue-gray.
If you prefer neutrals, choose crisp whites and cooler-toned grays over warm creams.
Pro Tip:
If you have blue or green eyes, wear that color. Coordinating your outfit with your eye color naturally makes them stand out in photos without feeling forced.

WARM SKIN TONES
If you have warm undertones, you may notice golden or olive tones in your skin. Warm complexions photograph best in rich, earthy colors that enhance that natural warmth.
Shades like rust, terracotta, mustard, olive, camel, and warm reds tend to complement you beautifully. If you prefer neutrals, choose taupe, mushroom, or soft off-white instead of bright white.
Jewel tones can still work, just go deeper. Think eggplant instead of bright purple and deep teal instead of vivid blue.
YOUR COLORS
WARM SKIN TONES
If you have neutral undertones, your skin may show a balance of warm and cool tones, often with ivory, beige, or light olive coloring. Neutral complexions are versatile and photograph beautifully in both soft and rich shades.
Blush tones, muted pinks, pastels, and deeper berries tend to complement neutral skin especially well. If you prefer neutrals, choose soft off-whites and balanced grays rather than stark white or overly warm creams.
If you have hazel eyes, wearing soft purples can subtly enhance the green tones in your eyes.
YOUR COLORS
Planning your wardrobe is one of the most important parts of your senior session. Your outfits should reflect your personality, but they also need to work together to create a cohesive, polished gallery you’ll love for years.
Please select 4–6 outfit options to review. We typically photograph 3–4 looks during your session. It’s better to have a few strong options than not enough variety.
Avoid bringing multiple outfits in the same color family. Even if one is a white dress and another is a white top, they can photograph very similarly and limit the variety in your final gallery.
Color photographs beautifully, but depth matters. Avoid neon or fluorescent shades, as they reflect light in unflattering ways. Rich tones, soft neutrals, and intentional color choices will translate best on camera.
If you’re unsure which colors flatter you most, reference the skin tone guide below.
Once you’ve selected your outfits, lay them flat and text me photos. You do not need to try them on. This allows me to refine your wardrobe, ensure strong variety, and pair the perfect locations to match each look.
You don’t have to figure it out alone. I’ll guide the rest.

Now that you’ve chosen your overall vibe, review the What to Wear Guide above to see which styles photograph best in that type of setting. For example, a field pairs beautifully with flowy fabrics and softer looks, while structured or edgy pieces work better in urban environments.

A couple of weeks before your session, I’ll send your Senior Style Questionnaire. Take a few minutes to fill it out with as much detail as possible. The more you share, the more customized your session will feel. If you keep it simple, I’ll take that as full creative trust.
It includes specific questions about locations, which brings us to the next step.

GOING PRO
Even if you’ve never had professional hair and makeup before, don’t worry. You’re in good hands. The goal is to enhance your natural features and make sure you feel confident and camera-ready. Below are a few simple tips to help you prepare and ensure your final look matches exactly how you want to feel in your senior photos.
Your Gallery Reveal and Purchasing appointment is where everything comes together. You’ll see your images for the first time in a custom slideshow, choose the collection that fits your needs, and select the artwork pieces you want for your home. This appointment is relaxed, guided, and designed to make every decision feel simple and enjoyable.
You’ll begin by watching a curated slideshow of your images set to music. This is often everyone’s favorite part of the experience.
After the slideshow, we review the collections together so you can choose the one that works best for your family. Collections include a blend of printed artwork and high resolution digital images.
Albums, wall art, prints, and keepsake pieces are all available to customize. I’ll help you choose options that complement your home and reflect your senior’s style.
Once your order is placed, your artwork is designed, finalized, and sent to the lab. You’ll receive updates throughout the process so you always know where things stand.
Your finished pieces are delivered beautifully packaged in MBP’s signature wrapping with tissue and ribbons. Most orders are ready within 4–6 weeks.
